Bad Behaviour

…on my part. I’ve made a couple of deletions. I quoted a section from a paper I thought had been published. It turns out although it had been displayed online, it hadn’t been published. There’s extra things in terms of review and so on to be done. This has caused a problem because the publishers of said journal told the paper’s author this could constitute prior publication and they would therefore refuse to publish. I thought the best thing I could do was delete all reference to the topic. The lesson I’ve learned is pay attention to the publication date.

Ironically I was going to write something soon on problems with publishing, which I’ll leave for now as it would sound whiny. On this occasion I’m completely in the wrong. I thought I’d mention it as I’ve also seen pre-published material discussed on other sites.
