The Biblical Studies Blog Carnival XXV is live at Targuman. I’m unexpectedly listed thanks to Duane Smith at Abnormal Interests. Hopefully this may lead to more reasons why a comet can or can’t be the star of Bethlehem. While you’re there you may be interested in a definition of Jewish Christianity. An oxymoron? Hardly, when you look at what it meant to live in the early days of Christianity.
Skeptics’ Circle 77 is at White Coat Underground. I’m especially interested in An appeal to Skeptics… at Happy Jihad’s House of Pancakes. I’ll see if I can cobble together a reply from some notes I have as I’m occasionally accused* of post-modernism. Then again I’m also accused of being a member the oppressive scientistic elite, so it’s swings and roundabouts.
Carnival of Space #35 is at the Music of the Spheres. As always there are some gems including Active SETI and the Public. Centauri Dreams tackles the issue of whether we should be a bit more assertive in attracting alien attention. If it’s something that appeals you might also be interested in San Marino: Assessing Active SETI’s Risk at the same blog.
* That is exactly the right word.
