Call for Posts: Carnivalesque October
As mentioned in Carnivalesque 7 I’ll be hosting the Ancient and Medieval edition of Carnivalesque in October. I’ll be looking for fascinating and overlooked blog postings from classical, medieval and similar blogs for the edition. Anything from mid-July to mid-October will be considered.
It will also be the last Carnivalesque before Hallowe’een, so I’ll also throw open a theme section. If you have an ancient/medieval post you can have a second post included if it’s relevant to Hallowe’een, Ghosts, Witches, Goblins etc. Also, if you have an Early Modern blog, you can have an entry in this edition of Carnivalesque, but only if it’s on theme. Otherwise you can enter the September or November editions as usual.
I’m not taking modern entries because Carnivalesque traditionally stops at the end of the Early Modern period. Besides, there’s a History Carnival on or around October 15, and the host of that might want to do something similar. I thought it would be interesting to see people with interests in a variety of periods tackle a similar topic.
If we can get a strong showing of themed entries then I’ll see about getting it listed in DMoz and Looksmart.
The aim is to put it up online on or around October 9, so there’s plenty of time to find your muse.
Please email your entries to carnivalesque@archaeoastronomy*co*uk, replacing those asterisks with dots.
