Egyptian Astronomy Study Day

I accidentally spent some time in a πCETL meeting in Physics this week. I was rewarded though as I got a free ticket to the Egypt Exploration Society’s Study Day: The Heavens on Earth: Astronomy and Ancient Egypt. There’ll be four major talks Prof Malcolm Coe, Astronomy for Archaeologists – what did the ancients see?, Dr Kate Spence, Astronomy and the pyramids?, Dr Luc Gabolde, The Orientation of some Egyptian Temples: an attempt to create a direct link with the Divine World and Dr Sarah Symons (who was kind enough to give me the ticket), The Life and Death of Egyptian Stars.
The event will be at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. At the moment tickets are only for sale to EES members, but they’ll be open to the public on a firt-come, first-served basis after April 30. See this page (and possibly scroll down a bit) for more details.
