Friday Quick Hits and Varia
The lingering fall weather seems to be giving way to winter again with a few inches of snow expected for later this afternoon. Fortunately, I have nowhere that I need to be, a pile of books, and more than a little grading to manage after the last week of the semester.
There will also be some entertaining sporting events this weekend. There will be two solid boxing cards with the Haney-Prograis title fight being the best of a good bunch. As readers of this blog know, I have a soft spot for Prograis, but I’m worried that he won’t have much for Haney. The other card features Robeisy Ramirez defending his featherweight title. He’s always entertaining. The Eagles play the Cowboys on national TV Sunday night and the Sixers play the Hawks tonight. It’s a good time of year for a sports fan!
It’s not quite as good a time of year for quick hits and varia, but I offer this little list anyway:
Political Interference and Academic Freedom in Florida’s Public Higher Education System.
What I’m reading: Stephen C. Finley Margarita Simon Guillory Hugh R. Page, Jr., eds., Esotericism in African American Religious Experience: There is a Mystery… (2015)
What I’m listening to: Marion Brown, Afternoon of a Georgia Faun. (1970)
