Friday Quick Hits and Varia

It’s one of those ambiguous late fall Fridays. It’s not genuinely cold yet. In fact, we’ll see the 50s on Sunday, but we also have snow on the ground. It’s getting dark early, but isn’t quite cold enough to hunker down by the fire every night. Worse still, I have a cold which is impairing my ability to savor the mellow exhaustion that comes right before the end of the semester.

My weekend plans involve reading a book, catching up on grading, and watching some college football. The Michigan – Penn State game feels like it could be interesting especially in Happy Valley. The Michigan State – Ohio State is probably going to be terrible, but the Ole Miss – Georgia game might offer a bit more intrigue.

Otherwise, I’m going to recover from this cold, try to do some reading, and brace for another week of travel. In the meantime, check out this little gaggle of quick hits and varia:
