Friday Quick Hits and Varia

We’ve been so lucky with the weather that I suppose it is worth mentioning here (even if it risks jinxing it). My colleagues in North Dakota’s banana belt got pounded by a blizzard this week. We received some chilly temperatures and some polite flurries, but otherwise sunny days that made me feel like spring was at least possible if not close by!

Adding to the feeling of spring is the start of spring training baseball, the start of the business end of the NBA season, and the return of the Formula 1 circus. This weekend, the F1 guys start their season in Bahrain. The Sixers have another tough nationally televised game. And Australia can celebrate a solid drubbing of India making it possible to at least draw the test series. 

This weekend, with NDQ off to the publishers and a brief respite from grading, I feel like I can return to my regularly schedule programming. I have some reading to do and some odds and ends to sort out, but otherwise, I’m looking forward to a more relaxed weekend with the mid-semester chaos behind me.
