Friday Varia and Quick Hits

I’m on the road at the ASOR annual meeting, but since I’m sleeping poorly, I have found myself with time for a bit of blogging. I’ll give a little recap of my meeting next week. And since I’m a bit busy this weekend, I’ll miss most of my usual sporting indulgences including the first couple days (and perhaps the entire first Test) of the Ashes. I feel rather confident that OSU can handle Rutgers, a bit less confident in the Eagles as they take on the Cowboys, and I have no idea what is going to happen in the F1 race in Vegas.

Here is a little gaggle of quick hits and varia:

• Pasts Imperfect.

• Methodological Habitus.

• Cahiers du Centre d’Études Chypriotes.

• Historic American Music.

• First Outback Mosque.

• The Scent of Jacaranda

• Maxey at the Dog Show.

• What I’m reading: Erin Manning, For a Pragmatics of the Useless (Duke 2020).

• What I’m listening to: Theo Croker and Sullivan Fortner, Play.

I’ve been playing with the Halide app on my phone on this trip. It allows me to use my iPhone to take photos without any of the AI gewgaws that Apple uses to create their usual photographs.
