It feels like fall here in North Dakotaland. The semester has settled into its routine, the temperatures drop into the 30s at night, and the autumn conference season is in full swing.
It is also getting toward the business end of college football season and I’m looking forward to Penn State-Ohio State this weekend (even if Penn State’s season has deprived the game of some of its luster). The Eagles have a bye, but the Sixers are off to flying start to you year and I’ll enjoy their home tilt against the Celtic tonight. The F1 guys are off and I’ve lost track of the NASCAR circus. Since I have some traveling next week, I’ll probably just focus on getting some writing done, catching up on grading, and making sure I’m ready for my trip.
In the meantime, here are some quick hits and varia:

What I am reading: manuscripts!
What I am listening to: Eddie Henderson, Heritage (1975).
