Friday Varia and Quick Hits
Days like today clarify the term “frog days” of summer: rain and storms all day and muggy late summer temperatures.
Fortunately, with the new semester looming, I have plenty to keep me occupied indoors from finishing some syllabi to reading, doing some layout, and even catching up on my lazy afternoon naps. Plus, the NBA season is getting interesting, the Phillies hot off getting swept by the Orioles host the Mets, and Mick Conlan returns to the ring in the UK.
And the lawn needs mowed and the dogs need walked.
(By the way, next Tuesday, The Digital Press is going to release a new book, but it’s already available, because I’m like that. I’m really proud to have played a part in this book project. You should check it out here.)
There’s also some quick hits and varia:
Identifying Opportunities for Collective Curation During Archaeological Excavations.
What I’m reading: It’s complicated, I have three books that I want to read before the semester starts. They’re all new and open context:
Rodney Harrison and Colin Sterling, eds. Deterritorializing the Future: Heritage in, of and after the Anthropocene. (2020).
Udo Grashoff, ed. Comparative Approaches to Informal Housing Around the Globe. (2020)
[A cast of thousands!], Heritage Futures: Comparative Approaches to Natural and Cultural Heritage Practices (2020).
What I’m listening to: Lee Morgan, Caramba and Live at the Lighthouse.
