Friday Varia and Quick Hits

We had one last week of summer here in North Dakotaland with temperatures in the 80s and blue skies. Of course, we have returned to what meteorologists call Seasonal Hebdomadal Precipitation Cycle which produces rain on weekends this time of year. There should still be enough sunny day left for a lazy Friday jog through the park.

I have a bunch of things to wrestle with this weekend including book production, some reading on time and narrative in archaeology, and a growing stack of grading. That said, it is also the start of the Phillies’s playoff campaign, the Mighty Buckeyes have a night game against a pesky Minnesota team, and the Eagles take on the Broncos (on a game scheduled to be on TV here!). The F1 circus is in Singapore which is always more of a spectacle than a good race. The Cup guys are at the always interesting Roval in Charlotte. In other words, whatever work I have to do will be pleasantly offset by some distractions.
