Friday Varia and Quick HIts

It’s been a glorious early fall week here in North Dakotaland with temperatures in mid-70s and hardly a cloud in the sky. It’s as near as North Dakota gets to perfect weather and it should linger this weekend.

My plan is to get some reading done and smoke some pork butts this weekend. Ohio State faces Washington in Seattle and at night Penn State welcome Oregon to a white out game in State College. My Eagles head to Tampa Bay on Sunday to face the Bucs in what feels almost as much like a trap game as OSU – Washington. 

This week saw third New Book Day of the fall with the release of Shawn Graham’s Practical Necromancy for Beginners:A Short Incomplete Opinionated Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for Archaeology and History Students. This book is brilliant and it is already putting up impressive download numbers right out of the gate. I know for a fact that it is being used in classrooms this fall already and I suspect more in the spring.
