Friday Varia and Quick Hits

It’s raining and rumbling as I write this, but the day will nice up and lead us into a weekend that will offer us a last gasp of summer.
This warm weather and the Phillies late season sweep of the Mets won’t distract us from the fact that it is football season. My nightly Spiders get the Fightin’ Belichicks, OSU plays an outmatched OU, and the Fighting Hawks take on the formidable Grizzlies of Montana. The most important festivities this weekend, however, it the Canelo Alvarez – Bud Crawford fight in Las Vegas. Calling it “The Fight of the Century” is not an exaggeration, but the proof of this will be in the fight itself. I’m almost excited enough to see if it will deliver the goods as to see who will win.
Otherwise, this will be a weekend full of grading, reading, some photography, and some NDQ and Digital Press work.
For now, though, some quick hits and varia:
What I am reading: Ian Hamilton, The Little Magazines: A Study of Six Editors. 1976.
What I am listening to: Mal Waldron, Candy Girl.
