It’s going to be another autumnal weekend through Sunday when temperatures in the 70s (!!!) are going to make it hard to avoid working outdoors for a bit. Apparently the temperatures will remain in the 70s for early next week!
It’s a good weekend for sports even if the US dropped their first match of their T20 series against Nepal and OSU has a bye. The Texas-Georgia game Saturday night has the potential to be a barn-burner. I’ll be switching between that and the Tim Tszyu title fight. It’s near the end of the beet campaign:

And it’s time for some quick hits and varia:
Real Archaeology is coming soon!We even have a video preview!
Lots of Petra in the news lately, but this is my preferred Petra: Pearce Paul Creasman, Noreen Doyle, and China Shelton eds., Petra’s Temple of the Winged Lions Volume 1: The Site, Project History, and Architecture.
From the Blogs:
What I’m reading: John Schofield, Wicked Problems for Archaeologists: Heritage as Transformative Practice. 2024.
