Friday Varia and Quick Hits

These week has felt like the last blast of summer after a few days of fall. Even today, we’re expected temperatures in the high 70s and into the 80s all weekend.

The warmer weather offers a nice backdrop to this weekend’s college football match ups between Penn State and Illinois, between Ohio State and Michigan State, and between Georgia and Alabama. The Phillies continue to try to win the top seed in the NL (and avoid injuries) and the Eagles try to gain some momentum early in the season against Tampa Bay. Australia is in England, but today’s match looks a bit soggy.

This will be a nice backdrop to some reading and book making and perhaps even a bit of writing. For now, though, here are some quick hits and varia:
