Friday Varia and Quick Hits

It looks like a warm, late summer day here in North Dakotaland. The cottonwood trees are changing by the rivers and creeks, the rural roads are filled with the bustle of harvest, and the days are getting shorter. Soon we’ll be wearing extra layers and worrying about snow.

College football takes a bit of a break for me this weekend with Ohio State idle, but the Eagles play on Monday night and that requires cheesesteaks and revelry. The Phils have Mets in town and it would be great for them to beat the heck out of them. Australia has their second T20I against England this afternoon which I’ll probably put on while cleaning the house. The Formula 1 guys are in Baku and I probably won’t be tuning into Canelo’s annual Mexican Independence Day tilt against the former knock out machine Edgar Berlanga. My prediction is that it’ll end poorly and quickly for Berlanga, but I guess this is why they fight the fights.

By the way, are you a poet? If so, you should send us something at North Dakota Quarterly.
