Friday Varia and Quick Hits

It’s a full on Fall Friday here in North Dakotaland with the trees lazily dropping their leaves and a little frost some mornings. The beet trucks are rolling through town and our big yellow dog has set up residence in his outdoor bed.

Like any fall weekend, there’s football, some late season baseball, some early season cricket, and just the slightest hints of the NBA season. Aside from the tomfoolery in the UK this weekend, there’s even some solid boxing if you know where to look.
This week featured another NEW BOOK DAY from our friends at The Digital Press at the University of North Dakota. If you haven’t checked out Tuna Kalayci’s Archaeology of Roads, you should. It’s free, but more importantly, it’s really good. For more go here.

Now for some quick hits and varia:
What I’m reading: My page proofs.
What I’m listening to: Andrew Hill, Dance with Death. 1969.
