History Blog Award Nominations #3
I was a bit surprised to discover that I was doing posts on each of the six categories of the Cliopatria Awards. I just thought I was doing the easy ones.
Best Series of Posts is the last category where an obvious choice springs to mind. There are some great series nominated. Spinning Clio on the Historical Method is well worth reading. I also like Rebecca Goetz on Tribble’s trouble but as good as it is I’m wary that every time someone blogs about blogging God kills a kitten. Then again I can’t stand the things which, needless to say, they find fascinating.
One that might be overlooked and really shouldn’t is Curculio on Latin Scrabble I’ll admit I could never do this, and I don’t really have a deep desire to, but you have to admire someone who can. The skill and knowledge in being able to discuss Latin in this sort of detail way surpasses what you actually see in the post. Reading this I get the urge to applaud, which disturbs everyone else in the lab.
I did consider nominating the History Carnival, but I thought that would be willfully missing the point.
