Housekeeping
I’ve muted the colours by borrowing from Sunburnt Kamel’s Unsleepable theme, along with his tip for clickable headers, so if you click on the masthead you should now reach the home page. It’s going to be used as the template for the page at http://archaeoastronomy.co.uk/
I’m also going to use the index of archaeoastronomical entries at the top on the .co.uk homepage. The original plan was to use the .co.uk domain as generic archaeoastronomy site. The weblog had the same address because I was too cheap to buy CrasFaciam.com. Anyhow the entries here can be used as the basis of the .co.uk site. There are obvious holes in the coverage. I don’t cover the Pyramids and Orion for instance. There might not be any entries on it any time soon though. I’m don’t think the layout of the three pyramids at Giza meaningfully correlates with Orion’s belt. If they were planned then I think Djedefre, Khufu’s first son to become Pharoah would have built his pyramid at Giza instead of Abu Rawash. But I’m not willing to dismiss all of Bauval’s ideas. The argument that the southern shafts of the Great Pyramid align to the belt and Sirius isn’t convincing, but in this case the alternatives seem even less so, so it’s worth thinking about seriously.
As a result the older entries are going to be checked over for typos and other errors. A lot have broken images, and they can be updated to link to librarything.
