Job in History at UND

I interrupt the regularly schedule blogging to advertise a job in my department for a “Teaching Assistant Professor History.”

I won’t add much commentary to this other than to say that our institution and department is in full recovery after some lean and tumultuous years. Our department, college, and university currently enjoy good leadership and morale across campus is solid tending toward good. I’m consistently impressed with the work, teaching, and collegiality of my colleagues across the humanities and social sciences. There are reading and writing groups on campus. My department is healthy and thriving, and our students are better than ever. At present, we have support for research, conference travel, and teaching. Finally, our offices are in a newly renovated building with up-to-date classrooms, conference rooms, and public spaces.

This may sound like I’m trying too hard to promote a non-tenure track position, but I’m really not. I work at a genuinely decent place with good colleagues, interested students, and a supportive administration.

Applications are due by April 15!
