Magic in Roman Britain
Magic in Roman Britain, or so says the title of my PhD researches, is my topic of choice in the vast and exciting expanse of archaeology and heritage. By way of brief introduction, I am Adam, and I am a part-time PhD student with the Open University. Over the course of the next 4 (pah) to 6 (more likely) years, I will be aiming to produce a 100,000 word document charting the concept and nature of ‘magic’ in the Roman world and collating a huge database of archaeological small finds to investigate, at a fundamental level, what exactly was going on.
Three months in and I feel compelled to chronicle both the research process and, more importantly, the cool things that I come across that I need to type furiously about!
Ad Absurdum then!
