Move complete

I’m feeling a bit smug and slightly hairless after today’s frustrations. In a perfect world I’d be on the new server now, but without the email I need that’s not feasible. My email is now fixed but if you sent me an email yesterday then it’s probably lost.

What I’ve done is move everything that ran on my installation of WordPress onto wordpress.com. That means that I’m not going to be hammered by bandwidth charges. There are disadvantages, for instance Shockwave animations will not work here. The themes cannot be edited which means if you have 500px wide pictures on a regular basis then you have a very limited range of options. On the plus side, I can also upload files onto this webspace without fretting about extra bandwidth, which opens up some of the stuff at sxc.hu and other materials. Another plus is that when I delete the data from my old server I can downgrade it, saving money. I’ll also be able to use Flock here, which isn’t essential, but it’s a help.
