Moving Monday: Music, Poetry, and Photos

Just a quick post this morning as I’m back on the road. The next post that you read from here will be from Greece!

If you like some dissonance with your jazzy, alternative music, check out Beings There is a Garden. It’s a bit genre defying, but also a bit wonderful.

Yesterday, I violated one of my cardinal rules of travel: avoid bookstores. Fortunately I was able to find a recent-ish (2020) bilingual anthology of Cypriot poetry. It included a poem by Pantelis Mechanikos titled “Ode to a Young Turk Killed.” You can read a translation of it here.

Finally, I spent a little time this week trying to photograph the almost unbearable heat that we’ve been experiencing here.
