My del.icio.us bookmarks between the 29th of June and the 6th of July
These are things I’ve bookmarked between the 29th of June and the 6th of July. I may not have read them all yet.
An Phoblacht: Anger mounts at destruction of Tara valley – Tara is now being destroyed at night, which would seem to underline exactly how committed the Irish government is to listen to people.
Rotherwas Ribbon – News Update – Information on the Early Bronze Age road found in Herefordshire from the county council. If it had been found closer to London it would be major national news.
Scotsman.com News – Scotland – Archaeologists rise to solstice circle discovery – A site with a possible solsticial alignment has been found on Foula, one of the Shetland Islands. There are one or two questions that it raises, but it seems plausible. The conspriacy theorests are out in force in the comments.
History Erased – Haaretz – Israel News – Archaeology looks set to remain contentious in the Holy Land with a conflict between those who want to remember the past and those who want to forget it.
Here’s some evocative photos of Easter Island – I wish I could photograph like this. It’s somewhat similar to Max Milligan’s work in capturing a mood.
Chris Addison – the thinking idiot’s Anthropologist – is on Radio 4 in Civilisation –
Roman History Books and More: book review: ancient rome on five denarii a day – A review of a book I’m seriously considering getting. It includes a table of contents, which is helpful
