My del.icio.us bookmarks for the 19th of May
These are things I’ve bookmarked on the 19th of May. I may not have read them all yet.
Nestor’s Cup: Geometric Vases – A really clever idea about where the inspiration for Geometric patterns on Greek pottery came from. Was this a female designed form?
The Portable Antiquities Scheme database: itâ??s a mystery to me! – A description of how to use one of the most under-rated innovations in British Archaeology in recent years. Essential for professional or amateur archaeologists.
STUDIA HUMANIORA TARTUENSIA – Another open-access journal in Estonia whose name and URL I keep forgetting
Folklore – Open access journal based in Estonia, with many archaeoastronomy papers in the recent editions.
remote central: Did Asteroid Wipe Out America’s First People? – I’m sceptical, but not entirely dismissive. There was an awful lot going on with Ice Ages ending etc around the same time. An asteroid strike capable of continental-wide destruction should leave traces elsewhere around the world in geological deposits.
