These are the Oldest Stories, now turned into music!
I have music at the end of episodes now, and I am packaging those songs, and others I have created, into albums for those interested. The albums are thematic, so far what I have is one about Mesopotamian history topics, soon we will have Mesopotamian hymns, and we will see what gets collected after that.
Yes, I don’t update this website very often, but making this page will save a lot of links, as you will soon see. These songs are available more places, but these are the ones I have links for. So just give Oldest Stories or Oldest Stories Music a search in your platform of choice and see if you see it!
These songs all have lyrics written by me, often working from an ancient text and adapting it into modern lyrics, though some are purely novel compositions. Then I build it with Suno AI, which is quite a lot of fun and I highly recommend it.
Album 2 – Oldest Hymns Vol 1, will be out April 22, 2026. This one has ten songs on it, two about Ishtar, one about how to make beer, two from temples that Sargon built, the wonderful disco Letter to Assur, a Babylonian Witchcraft Charm, a divination text, a really good Hymn to Asarluhi, and my favorite, a Hymn to Nergal that has unironically become one of my favorite songs.
