There’s a Mark Steel Lecture on Evolution available from BBC7 till Thursday. It was part of a series on revolutions, and he ties Evolution to the social unrest at the time. It also talks about Darwin and FitzRoy’s argument over slavery, with Darwin being against it. One of the political implications of Evolution is that no-one has a natural place in society.

There’s also Genius, this week with Johnny Vegas. Ideas include the creation of a new heritage town by sneaking round a place one night and rapidly building a wall round it to keep in inhabitants trapped in the early twenty-first century. Also there’s a demonstration of the power of short woman. Also available till Thursday.
