Above is the latest testfile for my forthcoming podcast on the past in a very broad sense. At the moment it’s unnamed as I’m too indecisive to settle on one name. As mentioned in the audio the options are:
A View From the Edge of Time
Pluto’s Academy
Proherination
Assuming everything works the plan is to release the podcasts under BY-ND licence, along with some code to allow people to embed the files in their sites if they wish. I did seriously think about adding the non-commercial clause, but realistically no-one is going to make huge amounts of money syndicating this, and if they make a few pennies back via Adsense then that’s a fair enough compromise for increasing the audience.

Update: Odeo seems to be flaky, hence the need to host elsewhere on a regular basis. The only other thing mentioned in the sound file was that I haven’t decided between Dreamhost and Libsyn as the host. Dreamhost offers around a terabyte of bandwidth, which should be more than enough, and would allow me to have a customised version of WordPress and Podpress. On the other hand I don’t know if it’s as reliable as Libsyn.
