Profile: Tutankhamun the Boy King Part Two

Tutankhamun came to the throne as a young boy at the age of nine. When he came to the throne he married his half sister Ankhesenpaten, He changed her name Ankhesenamun.

The first thing that Tutankhamun did when he came to the throne was to change Egypt back to the old ways. To do this he moved the capital back to the old capitals of Thebes and Memphis. Thebes was the religious capital and Memphis was the political capital. he reopened the temples his father had closed. To do this he was guided by two court officials.

When Tutankhamun came to the throne Egypt was very weak. It was an economic turmoil, and it’s international relations were in disarray. One of his policies was to restore the glory of Egypt’s fame. However despite his efforts for improved relations, there were battles with other nations such as Nubia and the Asiatics.
