The Price of Success

I’ve just upgraded the bandwidth on this site. I was allocated 1GB to last till the end of the month, but it may break that limit today. I’ve trimmed back a fair amount of the problems but one big one remains. The images.

If you see an image that you like on the site and you’re going to put it on your own site, could you please check where the image is hosted? If it’s on my flickr account then that’s fine. The problem is that I don’t own copyrights to all the images and things I get from iStockPhoto or SXC have to be hosted on my site. These pictures, which I can only licence, have to be hosted on my server. If you have a popular photo site that pulls the full-size version from my server each time some browses your page then I get hammered by your viewers’ requests.

In the meantime here’s another photo from a recent trip. If you like it you’re welcome to use it.
