The unpleasant side of the internet

I’ve just had a bit of a shock. One site linking here is also hosting pictures of naked children. It’s the second time I’ve found a site like that by accident. The other was back in 1999 when an address I used to have at Fortune City was recycled, so it’s not a regular occurrence, but it’s still unpleasant when it happens.

My first reaction is to go urgh! and close the window. It means I haven’t seen much of the page, but it’s not the sort of site I want to spend time browsing. My second reaction was to suspend the page they linked to. This is the Black Pharaohs post. I’ve decided not to for now because it isn’t about sex, and at least one person will be upset if I do.

What I’ve done instead is replace the image with another one. If they’re pulling the image from my site, the vistors will get the cheery message below instead of the Egyptian image.
