Tudorology: Join us on Facebook & Reddit

About a year ago, whilst in the classroom, the term ‘tudorology’ was raised in discussion. We decided it was an appropriate term to describe anyone who was involved in the study of the Tudor dynasty, and after batting around which term was best to use on a day-to-day basis – either ‘tudorology’ or the shorter ‘tudology’ – I started thinking of ways in which I could engage with people on social media utilising this term.

This has resulted in ‘Tudorology’ being created on a couple of social media sites: both Facebook and Reddit. I ultimately hope for it to grow and to create accounts on other sites which I am less familiar with, including Instagram and even TikTok. I’m even considering attempting to create some videos and reels in order to promote Tudor history.

Just what is Tudorology, I hear you ask? Well, the study of the Tudor period is what is at the heart of it. But for now, I’m content with the current description:

Tudorology is about all things relating to history of the Tudor period (1485-1603): the big, the small, the electric, and the eccentric.

So, how about you come and join in the on fun by using the following links:
