Vianden Castle
This is Vianden Castle in Luxembourg. It’s a medieval to early modern* site that’s been extensively reworked over the years and one of the archaeological highlights of the Grand Duchy. Though there is a school of thought that says if the building still has a roof it isn’t proper archaeology… 😉
The official site is at www.castle-vianden.lu. There are also other pages on it at
Blog entry at Green Salamander and associated photo gallery.
and a photo gallery, including interiors at dtitus.photosite.com/viandencastle/
*if we’re going to be picky I should also say modern as it was extensively renovated in the 20th century, if I recall correctly.
